The Quartet

Stefano Belotti

Bass trombone

Stefano Belotti, a trombone player, was born on June 30th, 1985, in Brescia, Italy, and resides in Franciacorta, renowned for its wine, natural beauty, and cultural heritage.

His musical journey began in 2004 under the guidance of Guido Delmonte at the Luca Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia, where he graduated with top honors in 2009.

In addition to his conservatory studies, Belotti honed his skills through masterclasses with esteemed musicians from the American and French schools. However, it was his encounters with Diego Gatti, Laurent Fouqueray, Giuseppe Grandi, and Stefan Schulz that profoundly influenced his development, particularly on the bass trombone, an instrument that resonates with his musical personality.

Driven by his passion for solo and chamber music, Belotti co-founded the Mascoulisse Quartet in 2007. With the quartet, he has performed in over 550 concerts across Italy, Europe, the USA, China, and Oman, gracing renowned venues such as Teatro Ristori in Verona, Società del Quartetto and Duomo in Milan, Y-Theater in Hong Kong, Teatro Dom Pedro in Macao, Royal Opera House in Muscat, Koufonisia Classical in Greece, Horsens Classical Music Festival in Denmark, as well as various radio and TV programs.

Belotti's musical talents have been recognized through awards in international competitions, and he frequently conducts masterclasses at conservatories and cultural institutions. He has also showcased his soloist abilities with orchestras, including I Solisti Veneti conducted by Claudio Scimone.

Passionate about contemporary music, Belotti has collaborated with composers such as Paolo Ugoletti and Nicola Morello, premiering works like the "Festive Concert for Bass Trombone and String Orchestra" and "Fantasia Op. 62." Additionally, he has performed in national and international orchestras, including the Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra del Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Haydn Orchestra in Bolzano, Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester in Vienna, among others.

Currently, Belotti shares his expertise as a Low Brass Instructor at the Stradivari Institute in Cremona and the Masterbrass Academy, where he also serves as President.
